One Killed, One Hurt in Accident on Interstate 77 in Columbia, SC

Columbia, SC -- A head-on crash in the area of Columbia, SC claimed the life of one person and left a second person with injuries Friday, July 14, 2017.

The crash took place on Interstate 77 around 1 p.m. It looks like a southbound Toyota and a northbound pickup truck collided. The driver of the Toyota, whose identity remains unknown, was killed at the scene. The driver of the pickup was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The official investigation into the crash is ongoing and may reveal important details as it concludes.

Early media reports provided little information regarding the deadly head-on collision.
