Jose Jesus Jimenez Injured, Charged in Houston, TX, Accident

Houston, TX -- July 15, 2017, Jose Jesus Jimenez was injured and now faces charges following a wrong-way accident allegedly involving alcohol.

The Houston Police Department has released information surrounding the accident which happened in the early morning hours of June 16 along the southbound lanes of Fred Hartman Bridge.

Officials reported that 33-year-old Jimenez somehow entered southbound lanes of the bridge while driving northbound. As a result, his vehicle crossed paths and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Jimenez reportedly sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital. Later on, tests showed that Jimenez had a BAC level of .221. He has since been charged with felony DWI due to previous convictions.

No one else was injured in the collision. Police have not released any additional details.
