Mark Sharples Killed, One Hurt in Motorcycle Accident in Chaparral, NM

Chaparral, NM -- 42-year-old Mark Sharples was killed and one person was injured due to a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in Chaparral, NM Friday, July 14, 2017.

The incident happened on State Road 404 around 7 a.m. According to reports, the victim's vehicle was traveling along 404 when for reasons unclear, it was struck by an SUV. Early reports claim the SUV crossed the center line, colliding with Mr. Sharples' bike. Mr. Sharples was killed at the scene of the incident.

The unidentified driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital in El Paso, Texas with non-life threatening injuries.

The official investigation is currently underway.
