Belinda Muniz Killed, Karla Camacho Charged in Laredo, TX, Accident

Laredo, TX -- June 6, 2017, Belinda Muniz was killed and Karla Karina Ortega Camacho was arrested after a head-on car accident on an overpass.

Laredo Police officials released details surrounding the fatal accident, reporting that it happened at around 9:00 p.m. on an overpass near the Bob Bullock Loop and I-35 interchange.

Preliminary reports indicate that 27-year-old Camacho was driving a vehicle across the overpass, but she was reportedly in the wrong lanes. It's unclear at this time why this happened. As she traveled, her vehicle ended up colliding head-on into Chevy Silverado.

8-year-old Muniz was a passenger in the Silverado. She was ejected in the crash, suffering fatal injuries. It's unclear if anyone else was injured in the crash.

Police arrested Camacho after the accident, and she currently faces a charge of manslaughter. Additional factors surrounding the accident are unavailable at this time.
