Man Killed in Fremont, CA, 18-wheeler Accident on I-680

Fremont, CA -- June 7, 2017, a man suffered fatal injuries due to an accident in which his vehicle crashed with an 18-wheeler on I-680.

California State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene at approximately 8:21 a.m. They say the crash took place near the intersection of I-680 and Mission Boulevard.

According to police officials, a man, whose identity was not released, was driving along the northbound lanes of the interstate in a passenger car. Ahead of was an 18-wheeler. In a series of events not made clear, the passenger vehicle somehow collided into the rear-end of the tractor-trailer, going underneath the trailer.

The driver of the car was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

No further information has been released as investigations continue.
