According to reports released by the Memphis Police Department, the incident took place at around 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of I-40 (Dr. MLK Jr. Expressway) and Highway 14 (Jackson Avenue).

Police officials stated that the accident involved a passenger car and an 18-wheeler. There were scarce details on how the accident occurred. Photos show both vehicles traveling in the same direction on the interstate, and somehow the car ended up beneath the side of the trailer.
