Lake Elmo, MN: 6-Year-Old Girl Killed in Accidental Drowning at Lake Elmo Park

Lake Elmo, MN -- A drowning incident in the area of Lake Elmo, Minnesota left an unidentified 6-year-old girl Sunday, June 4, 2017.

The incident happened at Lake Elmo Park around 1:17 p.m.

According to early media reports, the girl was pulled from the water, and was found not breathing. Responders attempted life-saving procedures upon arrival. The unidentified girl was taken to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead.

It appears the Lake Elmo swim pond is a 2-acre man-made swimming area.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

There was no further information regarding the deadly incident provided by the preliminary press release.
