Abdellah Barbach Injured in Ottawa, IL, 18-wheeler Accident

Ottawa, IL -- June 7, 2017, Abdellah Barbach sustained injuries following an accident in which his 18-wheeler lost control and crashed.

Authorities from the Utica Fire Department responded to the accident scene which officials was east of the intersection of I-80 and Highway 178.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., 46-year-old Barbach was driving an 18-wheeler along the eastbound lanes of the interstate. For reasons which have not yet been determined, the 18-wheeler lost control and swerved toward the median. It crashed into a concrete barrier and overturned.

Rescue teams were able to extract Barbach from the vehicle and transported him to a hospital in Ottawa for treatment. No other injuries occurred.

Police have not yet determined what factors contributed to the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
