Two Injured in Santa Fe County, NM, Truck Accident on US 285

Santa Fe County, NM -- June 2, 2017, two people sustained injuries resulting from an accident in which a tanker truck and another truck crashed.

Officials from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department were called out investigate the accident scene along US 285/84 just outside Tesuque.

Preliminary reports indicate that a commercial truck was hauling trash along the highway when a semi-tanker in the same lanes somehow failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the trash truck. The trucks ran off the side of the road.

Following the crash, both truck drivers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries said to be non-life-threatening.

Police didn't say if any charges or citations were filed after the crash. No further information is currently available.
