Brent Mast Killed, Barbara Learned Injured in Amelia, VA, Accident

Amelia, VA -- June 4, 2017, Brent Mast was killed and Barbara Learned was injured following an accident in which their vehicles collided.

Authorities from the Virginia State Police were called out to investigate the fatal accident at around 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 360 and Whitaker Road.

Preliminary police reports stated that 20-year-old Mast was traveling along Whitaker Road at the time. He attempted to enter the westbound lanes of US 360. As he did so, his vehicle was struck b a pickup hauling a horse trailer driven by 60-year-old Learned.

As a result of the collision, Mast suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Learned was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment of non-critical injuries.

At this time, the factors surrounding the accident aren't entirely clear. Police released no additional information.
