Boy Injured in Killeen, TX, Bicycle Accident on Mattie Drive

Killeen, TX -- May 31, 2017, a young boy was injured due to an accident in which he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bike on Mattie Drive.

Officials from the Killeen Police Department were called out to the scene of the accident just after 4:00 p.m. The accident happened in a residential area in the 4200 block of Mattie Drive.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the victim, a 9-year-old boy, was riding his bicyucle in the roadway of Mattie Drive. As he did so, he somehow crossed paths with a vehicle on the road. The driver did not stop in time and crashed into the boy.

The child had moderate injuries and was taken to McLane Children's Hospital in stable condition. Police did not report any charges or citations resulting from the accident.

No further information has been released.
