April Brake Killed in Miller, MO, 18-wheeler Accident

Miller, MO -- June 1, 2017, April Brake was fatally injured as the result of an accident in which her vehicle and an 18-wheeler collided on the highway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called out to the accident scene at around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 96 and State Highway 39.

According to the preliminary investigations, 39-year-old Brake was driving a passenger vehicle along the westbound lanes of Highway 96. For reasons which are not entirely clear, her vehicle's path and that of an oncoming 18-wheeler somehow crossed. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

Emergency services came to the scene to treat Brake, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
