Woman Injured in Austin, TX, Car Accident at Park Plaza Apartments

Austin, TX -- June 5, 2017, a woman was injured following an accident where her vehicle ran off-road and crashed into an apartment building.

Austin Police and emergency crews were called out to the scene of the accident at around 7:20 a.m. It happened at 829 Park Plaza, just off I-35.

Police officials released details indicating that a woman was traveling along the road in a rental vehicle. She somehow accelerated suddenly, crashing through a gate at the Park Plaza Apartments, continuing some distance, and ultimately crashing into the building.

The woman was transported to St. David's Hospital with injuries which were said to be non-life-threatening. No one in the building was injured.

At this time, factors contributing to the crash are unclear. No further information has been released.
