Megan Adkins Killed, Teodora Garcia Injured in Mason, TX, Accident

Mason, TX -- May 20, 2017, Megan Adkins was killed and Teodora Garcia was injured following an accident where their vehicles collided.

Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety were called out to the scene of the accident at around 2:00 a.m.

20-year-old Adkins was driving a vehicle along the southbound lanes of US Highway 87. Due to heavy rains in the area, her vehicle suddenly began hydroplaning. It skidded across several lanes of traffic into oncoming lanes. This caused it to crashed with another vehicle driven by 22-year-old Garcia.

As a result of the collision, Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Garcia was seriously injured and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, additional factors contributing to the accident are under investigation.
