1 Injured in Lake Jackson, TX, Tanker Rollover Accident on TX-288

Lake Jackson, TX -- June 5, 2017, one person was injured as the result of an accident where a tanker-truck rolled over on Highway 288.

Local police and emergency response teams were called out to the scene of the accident at around 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 288 and FM 2004.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the incident occurred after a semi-tanker traveling along the highway took the exit for FM 2004. As the driver turned at the intersection, the truck tipped over and rolled onto its side. The crash caused the tank to rupture, spilling 250 gallons of fuel.

After the crash, emergency services transported the driver of the truck to a local hospital. His condition was not specified.

At this time, factors surrounding the accident are unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
