Max Heyer Killed, One Hurt in Train Accident in Oceanside, CA

Oceanside, CA -- An incident involving a train and a pedestrian claimed the life of 22-year-old Max Heyer and left one hurt in Oceanside, CA Sunday, May 28, 2017.

The incident happened on the tracks between Oceanside Boulevard and Morse Street around 10:26 p.m. Police officials say the two victims were on the tracks when for reasons unclear they were struck by a southbound Amtrak train.

Mr. Heyer was killed in the incident. The second victim, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was left with an arm injury. His current condition is unclear, but his injuries were described as serious.

The investigation is ongoing.
