Wazeda Banu Killed, 3 Injured in Queens, NY, Car Accident

Queens, NY -- May 29, 2017, Wazeda Banu was killed and three others were injured after an accident where two vehicles crashed at an intersection.

New York Police Department investigators were called out to the scene of the accident which occurred at an intersection along 164th Street.

According to police reports, 48-year-old Banue was a passenger in a 2009 Nissan traveling along 164th Street. Traveling through a crossing, their vehicle was hit on its side by a 2012 Scion SUV.

As a result of this collision, Banu sustained critical injuries. She was transported to a hospital, but later died there. Two other people from her vehicle and the driver of the SUV were also taken to area hospitals.

Police didn't say if any charges or citations were being considered. The cause of the accident is unclear at this time.
