Worker Killed in San Diego, CA, Well Drilling Accident

San Diego, CA -- June 1, 2017, a worker was fatally injured as the result of an accident where he was struck by a valve working at a drill site.

Responding authorities came to the accident scene just before 11:00 p.m. at an Earth Tech Well Drilling site located in the San Ysidro area.

At this time, the exact chain of events leading to the accident are still unclear. Authorities reported that a 52-year-old man was working at the site when a ruptured valve somehow struck him. Emergency service officials say that the man was unresponsive by the time they arrived. It's unclear if he died at the scene or later on.

Neither Earth Tech Well Drilling nor the parent company of the project, Atkinson Clark, have released additional details. Investigations are ongoing.
