Gonzella Yancie Killed in Bay County, FL, Accident Changing Tire

Bay County, FL -- May 27, 2017, Gonzella Yancie was fatally struck following an accident where he was struck by a vehicle while changing his tire.

According to investigations conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 231 and Veal Road.

Police reported that 58-year-olc Yancie was driving a tow truck along the southbound lanes of US 231. He reportedly experienced a flat tire and pulled the vehicle onto the right shoulder. As he was outside the truck changing the tire, a Chevy Silverado driven by 19-year-old Brandon Luke somehow struck Yancie on the side of the road.

Yancie was fatally injured in the collision. EMS officials pronounced him dead at the scene. The exact cause of the accident is unclear, and no charges have been reported.

Police released no additional details.
