Thomas Lane Killed in Bourbon County, KY, Boat Accident

Bourbon County, KY -- May 26, 2017, Thomas Lane suffered fatal injuries as the result of an accident where the boat he was on crashed.

Bourbon County authorities responded to the accident scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. Officials say the accident took place in Stoner's Creek just off Fryman's Boat Dock.

16-year-old Lane was one of several passengers on the boat which was being operated by 35-year-old Jacob Mason. For reasons not entirely clear, the boat lost control and capsized over the side of a dam.

Lane suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was taken to Bourbon Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police suspected that Mason was intoxicated at the time of the accident. He currently faces a charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.

No further details have been reported.
