One Injured in Port Arthur, TX, Rear-end Accident at Nederland

Port Arthur, TX -- May 31, 2017, one person was seriously injured due to an accident in which a pickup rear-ended a car along Highway 69.

Authorities from the Port Arthur Police Department received the emergency call at around 3:30 p.m. to come to the intersection of US Route 69 and Nederland Avenue.

Preliminary police reports indicate that a white passenger car and a black pickup were both traveling along the northbound lanes of the highway. For reasons not specified, the pickup somehow collided into the back of the car, inflicting significant damage to the back of the car.

EMS officials reported that one person from the white car was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police didn't say if any charges or citations were filed after the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
