8 Injured in Dallas, TX, Pileup Accident on Ledbetter Drive

Dallas, TX -- June 1, 2017, eight people sustained injuries after an accident in which several vehicles crashed at an intersection along Ledbetter Drive.

The Dallas Police Department responded to the accident scene at around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Ledbetter Drive (Loop 12) and Boulder Drive.

Preliminary investigations have been scarce on details of what caused the accident. The accident was said to have involved at least six different vehicles. Following the crash, at least eight people required transportation to a nearby hospital. It would appear no conditions were listed as critical.

At this time, no charges or citations have been reported. Investigations are ongoing.

Map of the Area

It's one thing to determine who is at fault in a two-vehicle accident, but it's another thing entirely to sift through the chaos of a six-car pileup. The issue this creates is that the more complex an accident is, the more likely it is that police investigators miss crucial details. This isn't a slight at the quality of our officers, but rather acknowledging that many departments simply don't have the time, resources, or experience necessary for investigating more complex accidents.

This is why I always tell people to seek the aid of an independent investigation. An experienced professional will know all of the possible factors involved in the accident and can utilize state-of-the-art technology to ensure even the most subtle of details are brought to light. It's never easy to find out what caused any given accident, but with the right tools and experience, it doesn't have to be impossible.
