Woman Killed in Houston, TX, Retirement Center Drowning Accident

Houston, TX -- June 2, 2017, an elderly woman was killed as the result of an accident in which she drowned at retirement center pool.

Emergency services were called out to the scene of the accident, which reports say is the University Place Retirement Center located at 7480 Beechnut Street.

Authorities reported an elderly woman, said to be a resident at the retirement center, was found unresponsive in a pool on the retirement center property. EMS recovered her from the pool, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's not entirely clear at what time this incident occurred or how it may have happened. Investigations are ongoing.
