Axton Whitfield Killed, 4 Injured in Solway Township, MN Accident

Solway Township, MN -- May 29, 2017, Axton Whitfield was killed and four other people were injured after an accident where a vehicle rolled over.

St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies reported on the fatal crash, saying that it occurred just before 4:00 a.m. at the intersection of Canosia Road and West Arrowhead Road.

Police investigators stated that a vehicle with five occupants was traveling along the roadway when, for reasons which investigators have yet to determine, the car lost control. In ran off the side of the road and flipped over several times.

Whitfield was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, and he sustained fatal injuries from which he died at the scene. Four other people from the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital in stable conditions.

Police say they continue to investigate the cause of the accident. No additional details are available.
