Woman Killed in Parrish, FL, Sand Truck Accident on Wauchula

Parrish, FL -- May 30, 2017, a woman was fatally injured as the result of an accident where a vehicle collided with a truck hauling sand on Wauchula.

Authorities from the Florida State Highway Patrol reported that the fatal crash took place at around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Wauchula Road and County Road 39.

Authorities claim that a 27-year-old woman was sitting at a flashing red light on southbound County Road 39. She attempted to turn onto Wauchula, which authorities say had a flashing yellow light. In doing so, her vehicle was struck by a westbound semi-truck hauling sand. This collision caused the truck to overturn onto its side.

Emergency services came to the scene, but the woman succumbed to fatal injuries. The condition of the truck driver, 47-year-old Yamir Pardo, was not reported.

At this time, police continue to investigate the factors surrounding the accident.
