Alexa Colette, 5 Injured in Las Vegas, NV, School Bus Accident on Fort Apache

Las Vegas, NV -- May 25, 2017, Alexa Colette and 5 others were injured following an accident in which an SUV and school bus crashed on Fort Apache.

The Las Vegas Police Department were called out to the accident scene at around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Post Road.

Preliminary police reports indicate that a school bus carrying approximately 37 Faiss Middle School students was traveling through the intersection. Reports say that an SUV driven by a 70-year-old woman ran a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision with the bus.

Following the accident, a woman and a child from the SUV, as well as 11-year-old Colette, the bus driver, and 2 other students, were transported to local medical facilities for treatment of injuries said to be non-life-threatening.

It's unclear if any charges or citations resulted from the accident. Factors causing the crash are still under investigation.
