Driver Killed in LaPorte County, IN, Truck Rollover Accident on I-94

LaPorte County, IN -- May 31, 2017, one person was fatally injured following an accident in which a truck rolled over and crashed off I-94.

LaPorte County authorities rushed out to the accident scene at around 6:00 a.m. The crash occurred at the Johnson Road overpass of I-94.

According to investigators, a double trailer was traveling along the interstate when it somehow lost control and began to roll over off the side of the highway. As it did so, the truck crashed into a concrete pillar at the Johnson Road bridge.

The crash was severe, leaving the driver trapped in the cab with critical injuries. Rescue teams called in for air transportation and began attempting to extricate the driver. The driver ended up succumbing to fatal injuries before rescue teams extracted him.

At this time, the exact cause of the accident is unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
