Cody Gollihue Killed in Huntington, WV, Car Accident

Huntington, WV -- May 26, 2017, Cody Gollihue was killed, another driver was injured, after an accident where two vehicles collided head-on.

According to officials from local police, the fatal car crash took place at around 5:30 a.m. near the 5th Street exit of Interstate 64.

Preliminary police investigations indicated that 21-year-old Gollihue was traveling along the interstate in a sedan. For reasons which police have yet to determine, the vehicle lost control and went over the median. It entered oncoming traffic lanes and crashed head-on into an eastbound pickup truck.

Due to the severity of the crash, Gollihue suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the pickup was said to be in stable condition.

At this time, the factors surrounding the accident are unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
