One Killed in Semi vs. Passenger Car Accident on 60 Freeway in Chino, CA

Chino, CA -- A crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck left one person dead Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the area of Chino, CA.

It appears the big rig was traveling in the No. 2 lane when for reasons unclear it drifted toward the shoulder of the 60 Freeway. The truck then struck the gaurdrail, colliding with the cement wall of the Mountain Avenue bridge. The driver of the truck was thrown from the vehicle. The victim was hospitalized, where he succumbed a short time later.

It's unclear how the other vehicle was involved. The report claims the second vehicle was off the highway, and that both vehicles caught fire in the collision.

The investigation into the deadly incident is underway.
