Ypsilanti, MI -- May 29, 2017, Christina Snyder was killed, Charles Horn and his daughter Michelle were injured, in a firetruck accident.

Investigating authorities from the Michigan State Police reported that the fatal incident took place in the late night hours of Monday near the intersection of I-94 and Grove Street.

Preliminary information indicates that 34-year-old Charles Horn was driving a vehicle along the interstate with 15-year-old Michelle and 15-year-old Snyder riding as passengers.

Ahead of them on the interstate was an unmanned firetruck blocking emergency personnel at an accident site in the right traffic lane. For reasons unclear, Horn did not stop the vehicle in time, and it crashed into the back of a firetruck.

All three occupants of the vehicle were critically, though Snyder eventually succumbed to hers. Charles and Michelle were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, police have not mentioned any particular factors contributing to the accident. They say investigations are ongoing.
