Woman Injured in Gaylord, MI, 18-wheeler Accident on Meijer

Gaylord, MI -- May 26, 2017, a woman was seriously injured following an accident in which her vehicle and an 18-wheeler collided on Meijer Drive.

Preliminary reports given by the Otsego County Sheriff's Department indicated that the incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. along Meijer Drive outside the Meijer grocery store.

Police officials say that a woman was traveling down the roadway in a Ford Escape at the time. As she went through a crossing, here vehicle somehow collided with an 18-wheeler traveling along a different road.

The SUV had serious damage to its driver side, and the driver had to be extricated from the wreckage before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. Te truck drivers condition was not given.

Police have not yet reported what factors caused the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
