Dolores Reese Killed in Longview, TX, Pedestrian Accident

Longview, TX -- May 29, 2017, Dolores Reese was killed as the result of an accident in which a vehicle collided into her as she was walking.

The Longview Police Department reported on the fatal accident, which they say took place around midnight near the intersection of West Marshall Avenue and Fisher Road.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that 77-year-old Reese was standing along the side of West Marshall at the time of the accident. An oncoming driver somehow failed to see her in the roadway, crashing into her and throwing her onto the roadway.

Reese suffered critical injuries in the accident. Authorities say she died at the scene. It's unclear if the driver faces any charges as a result of the accident.

Investigations are ongoing.
