2 Injured in Electra, TX, Rollover Accident on US 287

Electra, TX -- May 26, 2017, two people sustained injuries following an accident where their vehicle somehow rolled over along US Highway 287.

Investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported on the incident, saying that it happened at around 12:30 p.m. east of Electra.

According to their findings, two people, identities unreleased, were in an SUV hauling a trailer along the southbound lanes of US 287. As they traveled, the vehicle somehow failed to stay on the road and went into a ditch. The vehicle then swerved back onto the roadway where it skidded sideways and eventually flipped over.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and both the driver and the passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with non-critical injuries.

The exact cause of the accident has yet to be confirmed. Police continue their investigations.
