Teen Killed, 3 Injured in Cornplanter Twp., PA, Car Accident

Cornplanter Township, PA -- May 4, 2017, one teenager was killed, three others were injured, following a single-vehicle accident.

Authorities from the Pennsylvania State Police reported that the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. along Union Street, just south of the Cornplanter Hill Road split.

According to police reports, 18-year-old Austin Clever was driving a Chevy Cavalier southbound along Union street with a 17-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 15-year-old riding as passengers. For reasons which were not determined, the vehicle lost control and went off-road.

The vehicle entered a roadside ditch until it crashed into a tree. As a result of the accident, the 16-year-old was fatally injured and died in the crash. The 15-year-old sustained serious injuries while the other two were said to have minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
