Grady Leon Goodwin & 3-Year-Old Boy Killed, Heather Heaton Injured in Accident in Blount Co., AL

Blount County, AL -- A two-vehicle crash in Blount County, AL claimed the lives of 79-year-old Grady Leon Goodwin and a 3-year-old boy, and left the boy's mother, Heather Heaton injured Sunday, May 20, 2017.

The incident took place on AL-79 around 6 p.m.

It appears a pickup truck driven by Mr. Goodwin was traveling along AL-79 when it collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The collision killed Mr. Goodwin at the scene of the incident.

The 3-year-old boy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Ms. Heaton, the boy's mother, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Her current condition remains unknown.
