Max Manes Killed in Beatrice, NE, Lawnmower Accident

Beatrice, NE -- May 24, 2017, Max Manes was found deceased as the result of an accident where his lawnmower overturned into an embankment.

Authorities from the Gage County Sheriff's Department reported that the incident occurred sometimes during the evening hours of Tuesday, May 23. 55-year-old Max Manes was out mowing at the time. Family members told police that Manes never returned home that night, and a search began.

Manes was eventually located Wednesday morning. Investigators say that Manes's lawnmower somehow overturned into an embankment with a creek running through it. The equipment landed on top of Manes, fatally injuring him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, further details surrounding the incident are unavailable.
