Michael Johnson Injured in Pierce County, WI, Truck Accident

Pierce County, WI -- May 26, 2017, Michael Johnson sustained injuries due to an accident where his 18-wheeler lost control and crashed.

Authorities from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department report that the incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. about 2 miles south of Maiden Rock.

Preliminary reports indicate that 70-year-old Johnson was driving an 18-wheeler along the northbound lanes of State Highway 35. Johnson told investigators that a deer suddenly entered the path of his vehicle. He attempted to dodge the animal, but the truck lost control in the process. This caused the truck to run off road and overturn onto its side.

As a result of the accident, Johnson sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mayo Health System for treatment.

Investigating officials have not released any additional details regarding the accident.
