Robert Diaz Injured in Victoria, TX, Single-Vehicle Accident

Victoria, TX -- May 26, 2017, Robert Diaz sustained injuries as the result of an accident in which his vehicle crashed off the side of the road.

Authorities from the Victoria Police Department reported on the incident, which they say occurred at around 2:45 a.m. just off the intersection of North John Stockbauer Drive and East Mockingbird Lane.

Preliminary reports indicate that 24-year-old Diaz was exiting a Sonic Drive-in at the time. As he entered back onto John Stockbauer, his vehicle somehow lost control and went off the side of the roadway. It crashed through a utilities pole, snapping it at the base and causing a power outage.

It was reported that Diaz sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident, though his exact condition was not specified, and it's unclear if he went to a hospital.

Police say the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
