Woman Killed in El Paso, TX, Pedestrian/Train Accident on Roseway

El Paso, TX -- May 24, 2017, a woman was fatally injured due to an accident in which he was struck by a train while walking along the tracks.

Authorities from the El Paso Police Department responded to the fatal incident at around 5:00 a.m. It took place at a set of tracks at Roseway Drive and Carnes Road.

According to preliminary details released by investigators, the woman, said to be in her 60s was walking along the tracks just off the roadway. For reasons which are still under investigation, the woman wasn't able to avoid an oncoming train. The train struck the woman on the tracks.

EMS officials say the woman was fatally injured and died before they arrived. No other injuries occurred.

The factors surrounding the incident are still being investigated at this time.
