Boy in Critical Condition in Near-Drowning at Riverstone Plantation in Cumming, GA

Cumming, GA -- A drowning incident in the area of Cumming, Georgia left a 3-year-old boy in critical condition Saturday, May 20, 2017.

Police officials claim the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the Riverstone Plantation. It appears the boy, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, nearly drowned in a neighborhood pool. The boy had been removed from the pool prior to the arrival of emergency crews, and life-saving effort were already underway.

The unidentified boy was taken to a nearby hospital with what were described as respiratory injuries. He was last listed in critical, life-threatening injuries.

Further information may be forthcoming as the investigation into the incident reaches its conclusion.
