Raymond Bailey Hurt in Accident in Erie, PA

Erie, PA -- An incident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left 83-year-old Raymond Bailey with injuries Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

The official investigation into the incident revealed a pedestrian pretended to be struck by the victim as he was driving his pickup at 17th and State Streets. The driver of the pickup, Mr. Bailey, exited the vehicle to check on the pedestrian, when the pedestrian got in the truck, attempting to steal the vehicle. The pedestrian then ran over Mr. Bailey, crashing into the a building at 311 West 24th Street.

Mr. Bailey was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

The official investigation into the incident is ongoing.
