3 Injured in Tucson, AZ, Fiery Truck Accident on I-10

Tucson, AZ -- May 22, 2017, three people were injured as the result of an accident where two commercial trucks crashed and caught fire.

Authorities from the Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the accident took place in the afternoon hours of Monday northwest of Tucson, close to Red Rock.

According to initial details, the accident occurred on I-10 after what was described as a "cross-over crash." It involved at least two commercial trucks as well as a passenger vehicle. A large fire broke out due to the collision, engulfing the wreckage.

The occupants of the vehicles involved were able to escape the wreckage in time. Emergency services transported those people to local hospitals for treatment. Conditions were not specified.

Investigators have not released specifics on what caused the accident. They say investigations are ongoing.
