Randy Strode Killed in Plattsmouth, NE, Truck Accident

Plattsmouth, NE -- May 22, 2017, Randy Strode suffered fatal injuries due to an accident where his pickup and a semi collided.

Police officials reported on the accident which they say took place Monday morning at the intersection of US Highway 34 and Harlan Lewis Road.

According to investigators, 55-year-old Strode was traveling along southbound Harlan Lewis in a Ford Ranger pickup. As he turned onto US 34, he somehow crossed paths with an oncoming semi-truck hauling lumber. The truck could not stop in time, and the two vehicles collided.

As a result of the collision, Strode sustained critical injuries from which he died at the scene. The truck driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Police did not mention any extenuating circumstances surrounding the incident. Their investigations are ongoing.
