Woman Injured in Tucson, AZ, Bus Accident on 1st Ave.

Tucson, AZ -- May 20, 2017, a woman was injured as the result of an accident where she was struck by a city bus on 1st Avenue.

Tucson Police officials reported that the accident took place during night hours near the intersection of North 1st Avenue and Grant Road.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the woman was a passenger on the bus and got off near the intersection. As the bus pulled away from the stop, the rear tire of the bus somehow struck the woman onto the roadway.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and they transported the woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The details surrounding the incident are still unclear at this time. Police released not further information.
