Martin Galindo Larious Jr. Dead, Lavinia Kelly & Several Others Injured in Food Poisoning Accident in Walnut Grove, CA
Walnut Grove, CA -- A food poisoning botulism outbreak claimed the life of 37-year-old Martin Galindo-Larious Jr. dead and left Lavinia Kelly and several others sick in April, 2017.
The food, described as nacho cheese, was sold at Valley Oak Food and Fuel gas station in Walnut Grove, CA between April 23 and May 5. Health officials say Mr. Galindo, Lavinia Kelly and several others became sick after consuming the cheese. Ms. Kelly was paralyzed in the incident. Mr. Galindo was hospitalized in after falling into a coma. He was taken off life support Thursday, May 18, and died shortly after.
Officials were able to trace the source of the cheese back to Gehl Foods of Wisconsin.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
