Man Injured in Mesquite, TX, Pedestrian Accident off I-30

Mesquite, TX -- May 23, 2017, a man was seriously injured due to an accident in which he was struck by a vehicle on the service road.

Mesquite Police investigators responded to the emergency call at around 1:00 a.m. Officials say that it occurred at the intersection of the I-30 service road and Galloway Avenue.

According to authorities, a man, whose identity has not been released, was walking along the I-30 service road at the time. Somehow, an oncoming driver failed to see the pedestrian in the roadway. The vehicle struck the man, throwing him into the road and critically injuring him.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene to assist police investigations.

No charges or citations were reported. Police released no additional information.
