4 Injured in San Antonio, TX, Wrong-Way Accident on Zarzamora

San Antonio, TX -- May 21, 2017, four people, including an infant, were injured due to an accident where a wrong-way driver caused a crash.

According to initial reports released by San Antonio Police officials, the incident took place in the afternoon hours of Sunday near the intersection of South Zarzamora Street and West Ansley Boulevard.

A man driving an SUV was reportedly traveling northbound along Zarzamora when he crossed over into southbound lanes of travel. This put his vehicle into the path of an oncoming car. This lead to a head-on collision which ultimately caused the car to overturn.

Three adult women and a baby from the car were transported to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police investigators reported that the man driving the SUV was on his way to see his wife in the hospital and was attempting to pass another vehicle when he crossed over. No charges or citations have been reported.

Investigations are ongoing.
