Latusha Adams, 3 Others Injured in Newton County, TX, Accident

Newton County, TX -- May 19, 2017, Latusha Adams and three other people were injured following an accident in which two vehicles collided.

Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the accident scene at around 2:00 p.m. that Friday. The crash happened along US Highway 190 near the Newton and Jasper County line.

According to police investigators, 39-year-old Adams was driving along the highway in a Nissan Altima in the westbound lanes of travel. For reasons which were not made clear, her vehicle was rear-ended by a van driven by 72-year-old Cooley. After this collision, the van came into contact with the trailer of an oncoming log truck.

Emergency services transported Adams and three other people from her vehicle to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not critical. No other injuries were reported.

Police did not mention what particular factors contributed to the accident, and no charges or citations were reported.
