Two Injured in Odessa, TX, 18-wheeler Accident on Grandview

Odessa, TX -- May 19, 2017, two people were injured as the result of an accident in which their pickup was pinned between two 18-wheelers.

Emergency personnel were called out to the accident scene at around 5:00 p.m. It took place near the intersection of South Grandview Avenue and University Boulevard.

According to preliminary police reports, two people were inside a pickup that was traveling along Grandview. The pickup attempted to pass an 18-wheeler traveling in front of it, but the pickup somehow crossed paths with a second oncoming 18-wheeler. The pickup was wedged between the sides of the two 18-wheelers and sustained severe damage.

EMS came to the scene, and the occupants of the pickup were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their exact conditions were not given. No other injuries were reported.

At this time, police have not released any additional details. Investigations are ongoing.
