Teen Injured in Castle Shannon, PA, School Bus Accident on Rt. 88

Castle Shannon, PA -- May 18, 2017, a teenage girl was injured due to an accident where a car and a school bus collided on Route 88.

Preliminary details released by investigating authorities indicated that the incident happened at around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Route 88 and Havelock Street.

Reports stated that the school bus, carrying Wesley Spectrum School students, was traveling along Havelock when it slowed to turn onto Route 88. As it did so, it was suddenly struck from behind by a car. The car continued on and crashed into a pole as well.

A 16-year-old girl riding on the bus sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Police did not say if any charges or citations resulted from the accident. No further information is available.
